User Profile App etc.

1. How does a user get access to the user profile app after they have authenticated and are online?
2. Is there any way from back end to see the authorised MAC addresses of a user except by using the connection log?
3. Is there a way for a user to remove a device MAC from their account, for example they pay for access for 6 months with a package having a maximum of 2 devices. They lose/replace one of their devices and they can't connect the new device because of the device limit.
4. Is there a way for user to manually disconnect from Internet once the connected screen has gone, which happens automatically for example with CNA?

Hi Andrushka
Below our replies point by point
1. Simply clicking on the User Profile APP. To understand how to enable the Profile APP read the Administration Manual under Template section
2. No, there isn't
3. yes, you can do it from the contextual menù inside the "user connection LOGS"
4. If you have CO.IN. (http://www.hsnetworkmanager.com/coin-injection), user will have, on each page visited, a grey toolbar, on the upper left, that allow him to came back to Welcome Portal and then disconnect

If you need/want we can arrange a training course where we can explain better all your needs/requests

Best regards

Reference point 1. If user registers using CNA, the moment he is connected to Internet the CNA closes and he can't see the welcome portal with App button any more.
So how does user return to welcome portal and access App button without us deploying CO.IN. ?

Hi Andrushka,

the closure of the CNA is related to the OS/device version. Not all devices' CNA are closed after login process is finished.

But yes, if the CNA is closed there isn't any possibility to get back to the welcome portal and see the Profile APP.
The only possible way is by using CO.IN.

Best Regards.

Hi thank you for clarifying. Deploying CO.IN at every site is not practical or realistic.
If the User Profile app is only accessible at first login then it's not really very useful. It is no help for returning users. We don't want to have to set the system up so that users need to reauthenticate every time they return. And it would be very helpful for users to be able to check how much time they have left, what devices are registered etc whenever they want to - not just upon first connection.
If you check Purple for example https://purple.ai/wifi/gdpr-compliant-data/  end users can log in to their back end via a "Profile Portal" URL at any time to see their GDPR info and their status on the WiFi system. This is a more satisfactory approach I think.

Hi Andrushka,

we already decided to add the possibility to reach an URL so user will be able to login to verify theier data and GDPR info.
But this new feature will be available with the new version, Version 6, of the HSNM, available by the end of May.

Here an excerpt from the release note of the new version:

GDPR (General Data Protection Regualtion) in effect in Europe starting from next May, 25 2018, provides that registered users can access, modify, delete or download their data. To comply with this requirement it is necessary to provide to users, perhaps by the registration notification email, the URL to access to the system and so to the user's Profile APP even when they are not connected to a wifi network managed by HSNM.
HSNM will provides remote access through this URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/portal/index. ... =en&slogin
Where instead of yourdomain.com you have to set the domain name with which to reach the HSNM, YourDomainName with the Domain Name where the user is registered and YourGatewayName with the Gateway Name.

Hope to help you,

Best Regards.
