Handle of canceled/reversed payments and associated active/valid products

by jnsilver » 13 Feb 2018, 17:49

Hi,
Is there a common way to work with canceled/reversed payments and associated active/valid products.

We have cases where users claim a refund and we have to reverse the payment (for example with Paypal). User still have mostly an active/valid product from the payment that needs to be deactivated.

I don't like the way to delete it because all the information about that case is lost in that way.

Please advise.

Hi,

you just can delete the assigned prodcut to the user, instead of deleting the user.
You can delete the assigned product from the "Sales to Users" menu available in the contextual menu of any user.

Best Regards.

What about the statistics when I delete the product under sales to the user? We report the sales to our book keeping. If the sales are changed by deleting a product we have to report this too. Nobody will have a look back to older monthly sales.

Best would be to let us cancel it and show a canceled payment instead of deleting it.
That would be a clean solution.

Hi,

I talked to developers about your suggestion.
They told me that it could be feasible, but it's absolutely not an easy thing. Whit not easy I mean that this has a big impact to the products management system. Because it's all based to the latest product purchased by the user that, if you refund the user, its product is still, as you know, valid. Being valid, to keep the record of the latest purchased product and avoid user to surf, also radius will be involved.
So, if you are really interested on this feature, we can provide you an offer.

Best Regards.
