by humzakhan » 11 Jan 2019, 06:06

Dear Team,
We are moving our HSNM to new server machine. Whether we have to export the running server to new machine or there are some other steps. We have to transfer all hotspot to new machine.

Hi humzakhan,

you can turns the machine off and then move it to the new server.

If you don't want users to lose the possibility to login during the change of the server, you have to follow more or less these steps:

1. perform a backup of the current DB of your running HSNM;
2. set a new HSNM machine up in the new server with all the right network configuration and GUID;
3. import the backup into the new HSNM;
4. turn the old HSNM off;
5. due to the use of the same GUID in two different HSNMs you have to communicate us that you changed machine in order us to be able to reset the GUID. Otherwise, if we don't reset the GUID and you don't turn the old machine off, your new machine will stop working after 120 hours (5 days).

Best Regards.
