HSNM configuration for 4 different SSIDs in a single Unifi

by MauryQA » 26 Nov 2019, 01:07

Hello support team,

How I can configure with HSNM and Mikrotik, an SSID for guests and other 3 SSIDs for offices with Unifi LR devices ?, HSNM should only control an SSID which would be for guests the other 3 SSIDs will not be controlled by HSNM.

Thank you

Hi Maury
I am sorry but we cannot provide you support on how to configure Unifi LR.
Anyway if you connect a different APs with different SSIDs to the same Hotspot GW, the guests will have the same login page (Welcome Portal) with the same settings (registration type, login page layout, social network, etc).

If you want to have different login page (Welcome Portal) for each APs/SSIDs you need to have an Hotspot GW or virtual GW for each SSID.

Best regards

Hi Support Team,

Ok, this means that with HSNM, I can't put different Welcome Portal settings and different administration options on the same AP. Right?

If this is correct, how do I create a virtual GW for each SSID?

Best regards

Hi Maury,

first of all you need to have HSNM version 7. Then, you can add virtual gateways from the contextual menu of the gateway.

You can get further information from the Administration Manual of HSNM version 7.

Best Regards.

Hi Muray,

This is something I do a fair bit of.

For the current verison of HSNM you will use the HS address as primary in unifi.

On you MT you will need to create 3 new bridges for the office wifi, with IP ranges etc.
Add 3 vlans under the hs-bridge
use bridge ports to tie the bridges and vlans together.

In unifi add the extra networks selecting the vl-an only option and match up the vlan id's
Then create your wireless netowrks, and for the 3 extra ones hit the advaced tab and attach them to the vlans.

Hope that makes sence.
