We were using Gmail for notifications then changed to a different mail server for testing. However since we returned to Gmail we have been unable to send any messages. The current configuration is shown in the attachment.
If I do a packet trace from the server I can see traffic leaving on port 587, but no response from Gmail in the opposite direction.

Any ideas?

we do personally use Gmail with these settings:

Please try to set it equal then if it doesn't work, please check your networking and your firewall.
