If HSNM Can be used for home broadband connectivity

by arefinadnsl » 01 Nov 2021, 09:09

Hi,

Currently we are using HSNM for WiFi Hotspot. But I am intrigued to know if we can use HSNM for fixed wired connectivity for home users.

Scenario:

NAS Router - Mikrotik
Users will be connected using Switch.

Queries:
1. How we can do monthly billing.
2. Is there any way we can set billing cycling manually
3. Can we provide a bandwidth graph for each user.

Hi Arefindnsl
Yes, you can use HSNm to authenticate and account PPPoE wired users. You need to configure a PPPOE domain and then a GW.
Below the replies to your answers:

1) You can do monthly billing, simply giving to the users a product that will expire every month and then providing them the URL to the welcome portal in order they can recharge their account theyselves.
2) No, there isn't.
3) Yes, on user's dashboard there is a bandwidth graph of the last 24 hours.

Best regards
