User connection log question

by Andrushka » 02 Aug 2018, 18:54

What exactly is the meaning and difference between the two options in the context menu for the connection log:

Disassociates this device from the user
Disassociates this device from the users of the domain

Thanks

Hi Andrushka
The menù "Disassociates this device from the user" unbinds the device's MAC ADDRESS from the user: it could be usefull if you have enable the "Recognize user based on the device" option on the domain and you want to prompt again the username and password, on login page, even if it has been already recognized.
The menù "Disassociates this device from the users of the domain" is the same of the first option but it unbinds the device's MAC ADDRESS for all the users of the domain: it is usefull in case you use the same username and password on more than one device

Hope to help you

Hi
OK I am clear on first option, but still not sure on second.

Is it actually possible for a single device MAC to be associated with multiple users on the same domain?

In your reply you say " it is useful in case you use the same username and password on more than one device" - I read this as not the same use case - your description appears to be the use case of multiple device MACs associated with a single user.

So which one are we talking about:
a) Single MAC, multiple users
b) Multiple MACs, single user

Hi Andrushka
It is possible to use a device to login with a username and after some minutes or hour login with another username

Best regards
