Dynamic Modulation Data Rate based on Developed Traffic

by Magenta » 06 Oct 2019, 20:30

Dear Support

we are using 6.1.86

kindly note that we are recently using a plan policy with

Dynamic Modulation Data Rate based on Developed Traffic
we Enable Data Rate Modulation on low
Activate at (hour) 18
Deactivate from Hour 21
Maximum Download Traffic 1500 MB
Minimum Download Bit Rate 512000
Minimum Upload Bit Rate 128000
Ignore Traffic Checked
the plan Download Data Rate 1024000

we noticed recently many complains from the user's then when we checked the
concurrent users and device last 24 hr report
we found drop at the device no on hr 18 about 50# from device disconnected and at hr 21 also slimier behavior ???
please let us know what we should do

sorry but I didn't understand what problem you are facing.

Please, can you better explain what your problem is?

Thank you in advance,

Best Regards.

Ok
I will make it as question.
Is it normal to have disconnection for all users at the time of activating and deactiviting the dynamic data modulation?
I believe This policy option isn't working properly and distributing all the user's by disconnecting thier devices where it should just start to reduce the speed of the connection !
We are stopping this option now and we hope you can tell us if there is something we did wrong or its a bug at the police you will fix ? to make us able to use this option later.

Hi Magenta,

thank you for your explenation. Now it's clear.

The answer is yes, it's normal and correct that users are disconnected at the time of activation and deactivation of the dynamic data modulation.

Because it's through the radius authetnication phase that users get the new speed. So the disconnection is required to achieve this.

Best Regards.
