When a backup is performed Syslog is dumped and deleted from the actual that you see.
It depends on your Log backup schedule.

Unable to find these logs before 8th April, where can we increase the backup period?

You can retain how many backups you want.
If you don't delete it from your FTP/SFTP storage you can have no limitation.
