802.1X with switch HSNM administration backend general discussion

Hi! is it possible to use 802.1X authentication using a switch? I mean configuring a switch as a RADIUS client in order to authenticate wired devices.

HSNM can act like a standard Radius server.
Please ensure that your required radius attributes are listed in the check/reply attribute list.

Hi again,
I was testing 802.1X with a switch and I could authenticate a user. I found out a strange behaviour when using this authentication.
- I didn't have to specify MAC address or IP address for the RADIUS client (which is the switch in this case).
- I could authenticate and send "out attributes" to the switch but in user connection logs hsnm says that gateway is another one (also configured with WPA Enterprise) that doesn't have that user. I specified the domain (user@domain" in the supplicant.

Do you think there is a wrong configuration or something to check in the platform?

Hi,
you can specify the IP address by typing it in the user field: IP address to be assigned to the router.
Add a generic router under the domain that you're using then in its configurations, insert the mac address of your switch.

Hi,

We are getting the error message "Information! CheckAuthorize User Rejected: No Data for User xxxx" in the system logs with some users. An authentication error message appears on the supplicant computer. These users have the same configured reply attributes as the rest of the users.
What means that error?

The error message written on the LOG is wrong (developers will fixed it on next HSNM version); anyway it means that the user' password is wrong.
As soon as we release versione 9.3.121 I suggest you to install it
