Encryption type used for API HSNM administration backend general discussion

I will like to know what encryption type is used for API.
i have a developer who is current developing a custom app using java and he will like to know what encryption use for the API.
Looking at the sample php and C#.net codes in the manual, i am unable to know what kind of encryption it is.

If you can assist me with API sample codes in java, that will also be great.

The encryption used is "MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256".
