Can't configure SMTP server on Manager

Dear suppport,

We have configured an SMTP server under system settings with TLS under port 465 and it's working fine, we use it to send email credentials when an user is registered for some gateways.

We are trying to configure a SMTP server for a Manager that wants to send this notifications with his email server and when we save the configuration we get the following error: Warning! The SMTP server is not reachable or the parameters are not correct.
This server is configured with no secure connection (port 25) and when we try to reach the email server by telnet to port 25 we are getting back the following message: 220 mail.xxxxxxxxx.es ESMTP ready. So it's not a problem of reachability, we have tryied to reach the email server by few different IP addresses and it's always reachable.

Could you guide us with this problem?
